The Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic situation remained grim globally, with the confirmed cases across the world soaring to 3,06,75,675 and the death toll reaching 9,54,417 in the 216 affected countries and territories on Sunday, according to the latest update from the World Health Organization (WHO).
Globally, American region continued to be the worst-hit with 1,54,66,584 confirmed cases and 5,27,837 deaths. Europe reported 51,95,853 confirmed cases and 2,29,802 deaths. South-East Asia region’s tally stood at 60,73,462 confirmed cases and 101,700 deaths.
Eastern Mediterranean region reported 22,15,733 confirmed cases and 57,641 deaths. African region registered 11,45,397 confirmed cases and 24,757 deaths. Western Pacific region recorded 5,77,905 confirmed cases and 12,667 deaths. WHO Risk Assessment at global level remained very high. (eom)
