Telangana registers 31 fresh cases of COVID-19, death toll rises to 30

There was a spurt in COVID-19 cases with 31 fresh cases reported in Telangana on Saturday, taking the State’s total to 1,163 confirmed cases. The death toll rose to 30, with one fresh fatality reported in the last 24 hours. As many as 751 patients were discharged after recovery so far and 382 active confirmed cases are in the hospitals now, according to official status update. 

Director of Public Health and Family Welfare said that in view of Covid-19 global pandemic, the State of Telangana has strengthened surveillance, contact tracing and containment measures against the possible spread of disease. Thirty new positive cases were reported in GHMC area and one case among migrants on Saturday.  

The three districts with zero positive cases till date are Warangal (Rural), Yadadri and Wanaparthy. The list of 23 districts in the State with zero positive cases since the past 14 days includes Karimnagar, Sircilla, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Bhupalpally, Sangareddy, Nagarkurnool, Mulugu, Peddapally, Siddipet, Mahbubabad, Mancherial, Bhadradri, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, Asifabad, Khammam, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Suryapet,  Narayanpet and Nirmal.
