Telangana registers 31 fresh cases of COVID-19, death toll rises to 30

There was a spurt in COVID-19 cases for the second consecutive day with 33 fresh cases reported in Telangana on Sunday, taking the State’s total to 1,196 confirmed cases. The death toll remained at 30, with no fresh fatality reported in the last 24 hours. As many as 751 patients were discharged after recovery so far and 415 active confirmed cases are in the hospitals now, according to official status update. 

Director of Public Health and Family Welfare said that in view of Covid-19 global pandemic, the State of Telangana has strengthened surveillance, contact tracing and containment measures against the possible spread of disease. Twenty-six new positive cases were reported in GHMC area and seven cases among migrants on Sunday.  

The three districts with zero positive cases till date are Warangal (Rural), Yadadri and Wanaparthy. The list of 24 districts in the State with zero positive cases since the past 14 days includes Karimnagar, Sircilla, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Bhupalpally, Sangareddy, Nagarkurnool, Mulugu, Peddapally, Siddipet, Mahbubabad, Mancherial, Bhadradri, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, Asifabad, Khammam, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Suryapet, Narayanpet, Nirmal and Warangal (Urban).
