Telangana registers 21 fresh cases of COVID-19, death toll remains at 29

Twenty one fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in Telangana on Sunday, taking the State’s total to 1,082 confirmed cases. The death toll remained at 29, with no fresh fatality reported in the last 24 hours. As many as 545 patients were discharged after recovery so far and 508 active confirmed cases are in the hospitals now, according to official status update. 

Director of Public Health and Family Welfare said that in view of Covid-19 global pandemic, the State of Telangana has strengthened surveillance, contact tracing and containment measures against the possible spread of disease. Twenty new positive cases were reported in GHMC area and one in Jagtiyal district on Sunday.   

According to the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, the  three districts with zero positive cases till date are Warangal (Rural), Yadadri and Wanaparthy. The list of 17 districts in the State with zero positive cases since the past 14 days includes Karimnagar, Sircilla, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Bhupalpally, Sangareddy, Nagarkurnool, Mulugu, Peddapally, Siddipet, Mahbubabad, Mancherial, Bhadradri, Vikarabad, Nalgonda and Narayanpet.
