The Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic situation remained grim globally, with the confirmed cases across the world soaring to 3,03,69,778 and the death toll reaching 9,48,795 in the 216 affected countries and territories on Saturday, according to the latest update from the World Health Organization (WHO).
Globally, American region continued to be the worst-hit with 1,53,33,470 confirmed cases and 5,24,527 deaths. Europe reported 51,49,121 confirmed cases and 2,29,408 deaths. South-East Asia region’s tally stood at 59,73,186 confirmed cases and 100,406 deaths.
Eastern Mediterranean region reported 21,99,096 confirmed cases and 57,256 deaths. African region registered 11,41,044 confirmed cases and 24,637 deaths. Western Pacific region recorded 5,73,120 confirmed cases and 12,548 deaths. WHO Risk Assessment at global level remained very high. (eom)
