COVID-19 CASES RISE TO 10,363 IN INDIA WITH 339 DEATHS

An increase of 1,211 new cases has been reported in the last 24 hours, with a total of 10,363 confirmed cases of COVIC-19 in the country. The death toll rose to 339, with 31 deaths reported during the day. As many as 1036 persons have been cured/discharged after recovery, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Through a collective effort to combat COVID-19 in the country, the Government of India is taking several steps along with States/ Union Territories for the prevention, containment and management of COVID-19. These are being regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is continuously and rigorously working with States/Union Territories to strengthen the health infrastructure in the country. As of now, a total of 602 dedicated COVID-19 hospitals with 1,06,719 isolation beds and 12,024 ICU beds have been developed.

The Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India has issued guidelines for controlling spread of COVID-19 in densely populated areas. The emphasis of this manual is to bring frugal sanitary and hygiene solutions & measures with focus on community shared toilet, washing or bathing facilities. (eom)
