Telangana registers 6 fresh cases of COVID-19, death toll remains at 28

Six fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in Telangana on Friday, taking the State’s total to 1,044 confirmed cases. The death toll remained at 28, with no fresh fatality reported in the last 24 hours. As many as 464 patients were discharged after recovery so far and 552 active confirmed cases are in the hospitals now, according to official status update. 

Director of Public Health and Family Welfare said that in view of Covid-19 global pandemic, the State of Telangana has strengthened surveillance, contact tracing and containment measures against the possible spread of disease. Five new positive cases were reported from GHMC and one from Rangareddy district on Friday.   

According to the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, the  three districts with zero positive cases till date are Warangal (Rural), Yadadri and Wanaparthy. The list of 10 districts in the State with zero active cases as on date includes Siddipet, Mahabubabad, Mancherial, Narayanpet, Peddapally, Bhadradri, Nagarkurnool, Mulugu, Sanga Reddy and Jagityal. The 5 districts with zero positive cases since the past 14 days are  Karimnagar, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Medak and Bhupalpally. (eom)
