A total of 1,65,799 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country so far and the death toll rose to 4,706 on Friday. The number of cases under active medical supervision now is 89,987. So far, a total of 71,105 patients have been cured, including 3,414 patients in the last 24 hours. This takes the total recovery rate in the country to 42.89 percent, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Through a graded, pre-emptive and pro-active approach, the Government of India is taking several steps along with the States/ Union Territories for prevention, containment and management of COVID-19. These are being regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level. (eom)
