Fifty-six fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in Telangana on Tuesday, taking the State’s total to 928 confirmed cases. The death toll remained at 23, with no fresh fatality reported in the last 24 hours. 194 patients were discharged after recovery so far and 711 active confirmed cases are in the hospitals now, according to official status update.
Director of Public Health and Family Welfare said that in view of Covid-19 global pandemic, the State of Telangana has strengthened surveillance, contact tracing and containment measures against the possible spread of disease.
New positive cases were reported from GHMC and nine districts. The tally of fresh cases included Suryapet 26, GHMC 19, Nizamabad 3, Gadwal and Adilabad 2 each and Khammam, Medchal, Warangal and Ranga Reddy one each. (eom)
